One Plastic Beach from Tess Thackara on Vimeo.
This is a facinating video featuring Judith Selby Lang and Richard Lang . This couple is well-known for collecting plastic washed up on Kehoe beach. They have been doing it for 12 years and creating fantastic art from their collections.
P.S.I have a handy little collection of Kraft Cheese spreaders from local Melbourne beaches too.

Shocking! Amazing art but a dreadful tribute to the carelessnes and selfishness of mankind!
ReplyDeleteThank you for bringing such thoughtful commentary to all of us today.

So incredible. What an enormous quantity and from such a small portion of the coast. 'Shocking' seems like such a tame word to use for something so incredibly horrifying. Perhaps we all need to open a discussion with Kraft and other likeminded organisations who repeatedly make these idiotic decisions to use plastic where other, naturally occurring, and therefore biodegradable, resources could be used as a substitute.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz.
